As the winter chill begins to bite, we are all seeking to cover up any gaps in doors and windows that may be letting in any cold air, especially those of us who live in an older property or one which has yet to be installed with the latest super double glazing on the market. Door curtain poles can help fight the battle against the cold during the winter. A curtain pole placed over a door can enable you to hang the curtains of your choice over a front door that may be letting in an icy draft. You can also do the same with patio doors that may not already be fitted with curtains. Placing curtains over your door may not revolutionise your home heating but it will definitely give it a boost. As with standard curtain rods, door poles can be bought in a wide variety of shapes and sizes but they are quite obviously going to be much smaller than their window counterparts. You will need to take into account the size of your door and indeed the weight of the curtain you intend to hang in order to get a successful blend of functionality and aesthetic pleasure. In a time when energy prices are verging on unaffordable we need to look at as many different ways of preserving heat and energy as we can. Hanging curtains over your external doors and perhaps in some cases internal ones too can help to keep the heat in and potentially raise the temperature of your home by a degree or two.
